Matteo Thun


Architect and designer, Matteo Thun was born in Bolzano in 1952. He studied at the Salzburg Academy with Oskar Kokoschka and at the University of Florence. One of the founders of the Movement Memphis.

After studying in Salzburg under the direction of Oskar Kokoschka, he graduated in architecture in Florence in 1975. Three years later, he moved to Milan, where he worked with Ettore Sottsass. He founded his own studio in Milan in 1984.

Matteo Thun has designed for Bulgari and Swatch, cups for Illy and Lavazza, Porsche, VitrA, Villeroy & Boch, Campari and Zucchetti.
